Ive just taken 7 guests over this col today in advance of watching the Tour in Morzine/Avoriaz tomorrow and it was a real brute. admittedly that was partly due to the +30c temps but dont be fooled by any lower ratings, this is a tough climb.
Great views at the top and a wicked descent down through Praz-de-Lys, put it on your itinirary!!!!

Story by Brian Crounse from Concord, MA, United States, submitted on 06/03/2010
I did this climb in 2003 on a Tour tour. Looking ahead to the following days climb over the Galibier and LAlpe dHuez, none of us expected much out of the Ramaz. But it surprised several of my group. I had to stop mid-way just to catch my breath, and I came across a fellow rider near the top, dehydrated and rather disoriented. I got him straightened out, and we enjoyed the fun descent into Morzine.
Its not an incredibly difficult climb, but I recommend not underestimating it!
