Nice surprise. Climbed this from Biert side on our last day touring Ariege and it provided us with more of a workout than expected. Tough last 3 km then eases off to finish. The views are well worth the effort. We had a clear sunny day.
My personal climb rating:

this came at the endo a long hard day 3 of a 5 day Raid. it is an very chalenging climb from Km 5 -9 there are sections of 20% in this and this seems never to end.
only undertake this one if you are prepared for serious lactate burn or you ride a tripple like Smithy.
the views form the top are spectacular and almost make up for the pain you will be feeling when you get there.
