An under valued climb in my mind! Some great views a variety of landscapes, no traffic, no other cyclists the day we went (a Monday). We started in Lovie-Juzon so the ride bacame a straight 40km to Spain! After doing Soulor - Aubisque the day before this was gentle but steep enough to attack and get the legs burning. Although the profile says 7% maximum there are double digit sections throughout and some light relief with some flase flat sections. After about 1,000m of climbing you find yourself surrounded by mountains on both sides as if at the valley floor. There is a beautiful switch back - with picnic bench on - just before Lac de Fabregas and some truly wonderful views before the steeper end section which brings you up to the border which is a bit of an anticlimax but still feels like a good achievement. The ride back down was great and the speed and turns keep you fully concentrated!
