This a very steep tough climb but only 3.5km - the average gradient is 11.4% witha maximum of 18%. Worth it in the end and a really quick way to gain height! The views back down to Massat make it almost worthwhile.

Steepest climb in the area. You can come up via Massat as shown or alternatively turn sharp right on descending from the col de Port (if the latter engage low gear before turning as you get straight into an 15% or so climb). The steep section is all tough but probably a bit more so in the first 2km as shown in the profile. The road is pretty straight so you have to keep climbing all the way, no hairpins for a breather. Afraid the top is not very special, just a turning up to the Portel and a panoramic view.
