This was my birthday ride for the year 2015. It was a typical autumn day with a cold bise wind blowing at the top. After a compulsory expresso on one of the cafe terraces in Montreaux I set out with heavy legs up the steep ramp towards Glion. There I had to catch my breath and have a rest. Onwards and upwards to Caux and its huge hotel school where I turned left following signs to Col de Jaman. This road was a delightful quiet well surfaced forest road surrounded by beautiful trees and spectacular views. It was a steady climb by bike up to the junction with the road from Les Avants and a couple of very steep hairpins to the Col de Jaman. Unfortunately for me the restaurant at the top of the pass was closed, so I had to forego my birthday cake!
