What a lung buster!
Starts straight out of Morzine, climbing and curling up the mountains past grazing ponies and goats on the road.
If you don't acclimatise to the altitude fir a couple of days before, the conditions find you panting like a new born lamb.
You need to pace yourself too, as the ascent is for the first 20 min., and your write was searching for another smaller gear on the front ring he doesn't have.
It levels out in only 2 places and only for a short distance then you are in and out of the saddle as your lead legs start to feel the burn.
Take gels and tape them to your handle bars; easier to take off and use than struggling in the pockets in your Jersey. You need your hands on the steering all the way up. Take a jacket as the 14 min.descent is chilling and fast!
I did the ascent in 50 minutes, but with training recon I could get it to 45 min.
The record is 33 minutes-quitequite a target to aim at.
