I followed the Criterium Dauphine 2010 up this climb, albeit a little slower than they did it! I had already been up to the Croix de Fer that day and this climb was a little sore! It is a lovely climb on a very nice wide road surface. It winds up and up through wooded countryside and is therefore nice and cool. The gradient is steady and bearable. The views across the valley were frequent through the trees and were certainly worth the effort. I took the road down to Sechilienne which is about a 10 km descent down steep and badly surface road. It was not a pleasant experience: I would not recommend this descent.
