a fantastic climb although very challenging, i was lucky and encountered very little wind. Would not like to tackle it in bad weather conditions. Ride back down the best ive ever expereinced

The profile above does not give a fair impression of the difficulty of this climb. Most importantly, some of the first blue section is very steep - about 20% at the steepest. The final climb yellow section is also very steep, over 15%. However, overall it has enough resting sections to take the sting out of the steep parts. The South approach from clatterin brig is more challenging as it has no rest and the last section is very steep and forces some into getting off, but is shorter - so overall the 2 sides are comparable.
