The Bosberg in Atembeke-Moerbeke is generally the last climb of the Ronde van Vlaanderen. It was climbed for the first time in 1975. It wil be climbed for the 33th time in 2009.
The climb starts very gradually on macadam road, but once you reach the forest and cobblestones, it goes up to over 10% on a very bad road. Cobblestones seem to be thrown in here and there, certainly if you have to take the right side of the road, because of traffic. On Ronde van Vlaanderen occasions, try to keep the middle of the road.
The Bosberg is situated in East Flanders
and belongs to the
Vlaamse Ardennen
.
Starting from Kapellestraat,
the Bosberg ascent is 1.35 km long. Over this distance, you climb 67 heightmeters.
The average percentage thus is 5 %.
