Stories, information and comments from Beech Mountain climbers
Story by Charles Bennett from Lenoir, NC, USA, submitted on 14/09/2007
Did this climb from the north side, which is longer, during an organized charity ride in July 2007. 55 F at the top near noon. Lots of switchbacks, some of which are quite steep. Very hard to get a good rhythm going as the grade changes so often. Overall, quite steep though and tough as nails.
