Did this climb as part of the etape 2010. Beautiful day, reached it with 100 odd km in the legs already. Climb really starts at Ferriers and is pretty constant gradient all the way up. I loved this climb, much more than the other two on the day, really enjoyable scenary, road was excellent, just keep a nice cadence and enjoy the climb. Descended down towards the Tourmalet, where I was able to pass a motorcycle, one of the most memorable things I have ever done. Writing this makes me want to go back!!

This was my first proper col, did it in July (99) the climb gradually rises next to the river and finally kicks up at Ferriers, It took me an hour thereabouts from Ferriers and had to dodge the cattle near the top. The views were brilliant
