Stories, information and comments from Col des Ares climbers
Story by Jan Schipper from , The Netherlands, submitted on 31/07/2013
I was in for a longer ride that day. After the Col de Menté we did the Col de Buret and the Col des Ares. Two nice, steady climbs. Lots of shade (you''re riding way below the tree line), and never steep. It doesn''t have to be so tough all the time.

Look out for cows! Mostly shady. No difficult gradient, nice steady climb with a good surface. Small café on the top with lots of parking. Wasn’t busy though. Descent fun if not too long, fast with only one (wide) hairpin.
