Myself and 7 other cycling friends climbed this Col last month (July 2012) and found it to be a beautiful climb that rises above Chambery, Aix-Les-Bains & Lac Bourget! Little traffic and a nice turn out to enjoy the view! It seemed longer than 8K and more vertical than it shows! the back side decsent is fun and makes for part of a great loop!
