Did this climb the day after Marmotte.Travelled down to Briancon from Bourg d Osains to climb the

Izoard but the road was closed due to cycle coming down it. Disappoined we decided to stop off on the way back and do Garnon, delighted we did

very hard climb only 11km but never went below 9%.Surface seemed perfect on the way up but very bumpy in parts on the decent Another one off my list

very hard climb. harder than Izoard and Galibier, this is the most difficult climb in Briançon. A very good climb because there is no traffic on the road of col du Granon

Great climb, fantastic views. Really beautiful looking to Briancon and beyond. I was in Briancon for the Tour in July 2011 and thought I would give this climb a go in the afternoon after the peleton rolled through Briancon. It was a nice day, around 20 degrees but as you begin the climb you are exposed to the wind, making it a very difficult climb. The road is good and the grade very consistent. I did l''etape a week before climbing Galibier & Alpe d''huez but Granon was the hardest! The scenery really blew my mind. Fantastic!!

from the Pyrenees to the Alps. I did the Etape du tour last week plus the Aspin twice. Thats tourmalet,Soulor,Marie blanche. Let me tell you the Col de Granon is more difficult than these! road not great and allways around 10% + the wind. I am sure some parts are nearer 15% than 10%!

I rode the Col du Granon in July 2008 after watching the Tour de France go through Briancon. The Granon is surprisingly hard, perhaps one of the most difficult climbs I have done as it is quite relentless after St-Chaffrey. You will feel a real sense of accomplishment after this one, and there are great views at the top. The road surface appears to be quite good but is in fact bumpy, something you will definitely note on the fast ride down.

yes, only 11,5 km, but very difficult kilometres. especially when you reach the village tronchets, you start feeling your legs. Its advisable you dont weigh too much because gravity is not your friend on this mountain. It is definitely harder than Izoard, but the surroundings are not as splendid. Nonetheless a nice but steep climb.

I Love Montain Biking but from time to time I enjoy to climb ;-) So ... Le col du Granon, Harder than Izoard (sure) but 12 km only ... 9 Km/H at the beginning and 6-7 km/H at end, with some bit of flat road just as well ! 1H30 to climb and 20-25 minutes for the return on St Chaffrey ... Sympa ce col ;-)
