Description

The start of this climb is terrible. While coming from a national road you turn left. You cant see whats coming because of the bushes next to the road. Make sure your on your smallest gear, because it felt like hitting a wall. Not riding quick or stylish was on my mind just staying on my bike was really tough. Steeper then anything in liege bastogne liege and amstel gold race. The steepest isnt short either and continues after the first crossing. This part takes so much energy that its really hard to do the remaining lees steeper bit with any speed. Bit the last part is in beautifull surroundings and easy rideable. In my opinion tougher then la redoute.

I think I have to agree with Alexander. Of course the Redoute is by far the most famous climb in L-B-L, but this one is, objectivly, heavier. If you take the first 1500 meters (as long as the whole Redoute!) then it has two little plateaus, but the rest is terrible. By average at least as steep (or steeper) then the Redoute as well as it maximum (21% against 20 on the Redoute). After that, the two kilometer that follow, are dessert, but a heavy one!
