Joaquim Rodríguez and the Passo dello Stelvio (Stilfserjoch) have been elected best climber and climb of 2012. More than 3,000 votes from cycling fans from all over the world choose the Spanish climber over Christopher Froome, The Stelvio was considered the most interesting climb of 2012 before the Cuetu Negro in the Spanish Asturias.
With his election as the best climber of 2012, the 33 year old Spanish climber, specialised in steep ropes, yet wins another trophy. Joaquim Rodríguez already won the UCI World Tour in 2012 and ended second and third in the Giro and Vuelta of 2012. He won several mountain stages, the Tour of Lombardy and the Flèche Walonne on the Wall of Huy.
The classical Giro climb, the Passo dello Stelvio received more than half of the votes. The
