Giro d'Italia 2008
May 10 - June 1

The 91th Giro d'Italia 2008 starts in Palermo (Sicily) and stays on the island for 3 days. In 21 stages, 3,423 kilometer need to be covered. There are not less then 4 chrono races, starting with a 28 km chronorace in Palermo! The same number of mountain stages promise an interesting Giro 2008. While maybe easier than previous giri, a muscleous closing week with climbs to a.o. the Passo Fedaia, and the Gavia (Cima Coppi a 2618 metri), Mortirolo and Aprica in one day, will keep the tension high till the finish. Indeed, till the finish, cause the closing stage will not be a "kermis stage" but another chrono race of 23,5 km between Villa Borromeo (Cesano Maderno) and the Corso Venezia in Milano.
